Speak Truth to Power PBS Video



Speak Truth to Power is a powerful mix of poetry, music and documentary footage dedicated to human rights advocates from more than 40 countries. The program features the premiere of a new theatrical work, “Speak Truth to Power: Voices from Beyond the Dark,” by noted Chilean poet, playwright and activist Ariel Dorfman.
Performing before a distinguished audience at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Arts, the all-star cast including Kevin Kline, Sigourney Weaver, Alfre Woodard, John Malkovitch, Rita Moreno, Alec Baldwin, Giancarlo Esposito, Hector Elizondo and Julia Louis Dreyfus creates a unique special weaving on-location footage from India and Guatemala, and interviews with leading activists including Oscar Arias, Sister Helen Prejean and Harry Wu, with musical offerings by singer-songwriter Jackson Browne and South African jazz master Hugh Masekela.
