Nikki S. Lee is a Korean-born photographer currently based in New York City. The subject of a recently aired BBC/Channel 4 documentary, her work has been profiled in museums and galleries worldwide, including The Kwang-Jiu Biennial 2000, P.S. 1 in New York City, Paula Cooper, and Matthew Marks Gallery. An exhibition of her work will open at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts to coincide with the publication. Lee is represented by Leslie Tonkonow, New York.
Russell Ferguson, former associate curator of the Los Angeles Museum of Art and newly appointed director of the Armand Hammer Museum of Art, contributes an essay to the book.
